Design Classics: The Higonokami Knife
From Japan, a design that is produced almost unaltered for more than a century, the Higonokami is a useful and less is more folding knife. A folded sheet of brass forms the handle, engraved with a Japanese fighter and on the reverse side with the maker’s stamps. The sword-reminiscent blade is made of razor-sharp, 3 mm thick, 3-layer carbon steel and is not lockable. The knife is openened with a lever which doubles as a thumb-ramp.Dimensions: The length of the blade is 3 in./75 mm and the closed length of the knife is about 4 in./105 mm.
